Dear Consulate

I never been in Turkey, however, I booked a holiday to Istanbul for next week. I heard that shops and restaurants accept English money so I do not need to exchange travel money because I can pay with the British Pounds. Is it true or would it be better to change before I travel?

It is true that shops accept British pounds but it is better you change your money to Turkish Lira because for example 1 British Pound makes 2.327 TL shops and restaurants may charge you 2 lira or 2.1 and your loss will be 0.300 or 0.250 why you lose that you may use this loss to another extra spendings..
My advice is to change your money to Turkish Lira and spend it that way..
