Istanbul’s history prior the conquest will be exhibited starting from its founding era in Istanbul Sabancı University's Sakıp Sabancı Museum. The process that begun as one province of the Roman Empire, and turning to be a capital city, then developing, stagnation and falling periods will be reflected and also the city’s revival with the conquer of Turks will be shown via artictic masterpieces.

In the exhibition, collections of The Istanbul Archaeology Museums, Topkapı Palace Museum, The Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum as well as other state museums of Turkey will be included. The art pieces which are exhibited in the prominent museums of the all over the Europe like London, British Museum; St. Petersburg, Hermitage Museum; Florence, Bargello Museum; Paris, Louvre Museum; Vatican Museums will be appeared in this very comprehensive exhibition and the city’s evolution from Byzantium days to nowadays and its effect to the world history and the interactions with contemporary cities will be presented to the audiences.

The exhibition will be composed by borrowing art pieces from nearly 40 different collections. And during the exhibition, the history of Istanbul, which is not known very much even in today, will be shared with the audiences via education programs and conferences.
